What Is SLA 3D Printing?
SLA printing uses an ultraviolet laser to form thousands of thin layers on the surface of a liquid thermoset resin until the final part is formed. SLA printing enables a wide range of material options, extremely high feature resolution, and high-quality surface finishes.

What Is SLS 3D Printing?
SLS printing utilizes a high-powered optical laser to fuse fine powder particles layer by layer to produce complex and durable geometric parts. SLS printing uses filled nylon to create robust parts suitable for the production of functional prototypes and end-use parts.

How Does SLA 3D Printing Work?
- Import the 3D data into a dedicated software program, adding support structures if necessary.
- The STL file is then sent to the SLA machine and the tank is filled with liquid photosensitive resin.
- The build platform is lowered into the tank and the UV laser beam scans the cross-sectional profile along the liquid surface.
- The scanned resin rapidly solidifies to form a single layer of material. After finishing the first layer, lower the platform 0.05-0.15mm and cover the build surface with a new layer of resin.
- Based on the new cross-sectional data scan, the resin is cured and bonded to the underlying layers. This process is then repeated until the part is built.
How Does SLS 3D Printing Work?
- The powder is spread on the platform in a thin layer.
- The laser beam scans the powder according to the cross-sectional profile of the powder layer and sinters it. The unsintered powder supports the cavity and cantilever of the model.
- After the sintering of a section is completed, the thickness of the platform is reduced by one layer, and a layer of uniform and dense powder is laid on it by the laying roller, and a new section is sintered.
- Repeat this process until all layers are sintered, resulting in a solid model.
